Reading the source material looking for extra ideas and evidence should uncover a few more, and you can choose which ones you want to write more about. After this is complete, you can choose which ones would be most effective for your paper.
Reading and studying about your topic can also help you to make any changes that may be necessary. Sometimes a student may pick a supporting idea but then hits a dead end in finding enough details or evidence to back it up. In this case, you may want to switch and use one of the other big ideas you discovered.
